Submission Instructions

All candidates must follow the instructions below for submitting an application:


1. Due date for applications

The last date for application submission is on Friday, September 27 at 12:00 pm.

Applications that are submitted after the set date and hour, as well as applications that were sent by post on time but were not received until the set date and time will not be taken into account.


2. Application forms

The Application Form can be either downloaded in electronic form (Microsoft Excel) from the webpage of the EDEN Programme ( or it can be sent by email by communicating with the EDEN Help Desk Consultant in the following address:

3. Information for the submission of the Application Form

All the Application Forms must be submitted in the following address:

The Application Forms must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the following inscription:

  • Application for the Competition: European Destinations of Excellence – EDEN 2019: GRO/SME/18C/065 - Selection 2018 “Health and well-being tourism”


  • The full title of the Contracting Authority.

  • The last date of the application’s submission.

  • Sender’s information.


4. Application folder contents

Every application must contain the following:

  • Two (2) copies of the “Application Form” signed by the legal or the licensed representative.

  • Additional informational material concerning the proposed destination (maps, brochures, photographs, references, etc).

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) for the personnel of the Applicant that is employed in tourism activities (see § 5.1 “Organizational structure of the Applicant” in the Application Form).

  • The Application Form in electronic form (USB stick or CD-ROM), with all the additional informational material (CVs, brochures, maps, photographs, audiovisual material, etc).

  • All the application forms must be filled in the “Application Form” document of EDEN Programme. Applications must necessarily be completed electronically. Applications completed by hand will not run by the Evaluation Committee and be characterized INVALID.

  • Applications should be completed in Greek or in English.


5. Benefits for the winning destination for the EDEN 2019 «Health and well-being tourism» competition

For the winning destination as well as for the runners-up the following publicity and promotional activities have been planned:

  • Preparation of an informational brochure in greek and english.
    The brochure will present the natural beauty of the destination, environmental policies, the available tourism facilities, the local customs, the recreational activities and events. Moreover, the brochure will provide details concerning contact information, maps and directions, environment, areas of interest, arts and crafts, etc of the destination. The brochure will be distributed in Cyprus and internationally.

  • The winning destination will be promoted by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism through its tourism offices worldwide and through other public relations work (e.g. articles in the press, presentations on media).

  • The winning destination will be present on the Deputy Ministry of Tourism webpage, on the site prepared for the project ( and on the European Commission webpage.

  • he winning destination will be promoted at European level by the Tourism Unit of the European Committee.

  • The winning destination will be presented at the European Tourism Forum 2020 as well as across Europe, along with all the winning destinations of other countries participating in the EDEN program.

  • The selected destination will be also promoted at European level by the relevant units of the European Committee along with all the winning destinations of other countries participating in the EDEN 2019 program “Health and well-being tourism”.
