The EDEN Project The
European Destinations of Excellence (EDEN) is a European Commission
Tourism Unit initiative. The National Tourism Representatives of the
European member states as well as EU Candidate countries will select the
Best Tourism Destination of their country.
The Project is related to “Tourism and Local
Intangible Heritage”. The selected destinations will be promoted by the
European Commission and the participating countries in the EDEN project,
promoting their diversity, uniqueness and quality.

The Cyprus
Tourism Organisation (CTO) is one of the National Tourism
Representatives selected by the European Commission to implement the
EDEN project in Cyprus. CTO is inviting entries to its National EDEN
Competition for the selection of the Best Tourism Destination on the
theme “Tourism and the Intangible Cultural Heritage”. Additional

Submission Instructions, and the
Evaluation Criteria are available on
the project’s website.
An Information Seminar for prospective
applicants is organized in Nicosia at the CTO Headquarter Offices, on
Friday, 28 March, 2008 at 10 am [CTO Education centre].
The deadline of the submission of applications
is Thursday, 10 April, 2008.
The CTO has set up an EDEN Help Desk aiming to
support candidates for filling-out and submitting their Application
Form. The winning destination for Cyprus will be promoted in Cyprus and
throughout Europe.
