Submission Instructions

All the candidates must adhere to the following instructions for submitting the Application dossier:

1. Last Date for Receipt of Applications

  • The last date for the Applications’ submission is Friday, 16 April 2010, at 14:00.
     
  • Applications that are submitted after the set date and hour as well as applications posted on time but not be received by the CTO until the set date and time, will not be taken into account by the Steering Committee.

2. Application Form’s receipt

The Application Form can either be downloaded in electronic form (Microsoft Excel) from the Cyprus EDEN Programme website (www.cyprus-eden.com) or it can be sent to prospective applicants by email after communicating with the Help Desk Consultant in the following address:

3. Information for the submission of the Application Form

All the Application Forms must be submitted in the following address:

The Application Forms must be submitted in a sealed envelope which bears the following inscription:

  • Application for the Competition: European Destinations of Excellence – EDEN: ENT/TOU/09/5.1.1 “Aquatic Tourism”
  • NOT TO BE OPENED BY INTERNAL MAIL
  • The full title of the Contracting Authority (Cyprus Tourism Organisation).
  • The last date of the application’s submission.
  • Sender’s information.

4. Applications folder contents

Every application must contain the following:

  • Two (2) copies of the “Application Form” signed by the legal or the licensed representative.
     
  • Additional informational material concerning the proposed destination (maps, brochures, photographs, references, etc).
     
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) for the personnel of the Applicant that is employed in tourism activities (see §10.1 “Organizational structure of the Applicant” in the Application Form).
     
  • The filled Application Form in electronic form (CD-ROM), with all the additional informational material (CVs, brochures, maps, photographs, audiovisual material, etc).

All the applications must be filled in the “Application Form” document of EDEN Programme. Applications must necessarily be completed electronically. Applications completed by hand will not be evaluated by the Steering Committee and will be characterized as INVALID.
Applications should be completed in Greek or in English.

5. EDEN Help Desk

An EDEN Help Desk has been set up in order to provide any information and assistance required to all interested parties. The Help Desk is staffed with qualified Consultants experienced in the field of Tourism in Cyprus and the implementation of relative projects. You may contact the EDEN Help Desk in order to get assistance with completing the Application Form. The Help Desk services are free of charge.

Questions and/or clarification requests can be sent to the email address info@enoros.com.cy specifying the subject: “FOR EDEN PROGRAMME”. The Help Desk in collaboration with the CTO will answer all your questions within three (3) days from their receipt and up to the 31st March 2010.

6. The winner of the Cyprus EDEN Programme

The following publicity and promotional activities are planned for the winning destination:

  • An informational brochure concerning the winning destination, in Greek and in English, will be produced, showcasing the natural beauty of the destination, the management and the protection of the environment, the available tourism facilities, the local customs, the recreational activities relative or not to water element, sports activities and events, while providing details concerning the destination’s contact information, maps and directions, the general environment, areas of interest, Museums, accommodation facilities, etc. The brochure will be distributed both in Cyprus and internationally.
  • The winning destination will be promoted by the CTO through its information offices and through other public relations activities (e.g. articles in the press, presentations on media).
  • The selected destination will be presented on the CTO website and the Cyprus EDEN website www.cyprus-eden.com.
  • The winning destination will also be promoted at European level by the Tourism Unit of the European Committee.
  • The winning destination will be promoted at the European Tourism Forum 2010, during the EDEN Award Ceremony of all winning EDEN “Aquatic Tourism”.
